Atlanta Provides Warming Stations During Artic Blast

Atlanta has been under attack from gusty winds, snow and frigid temperatures in the low teens.

Many metro Atlanta schools and  business are closed as the city braces for the worse part of the southern storm.  Two term Atlanta Mayor Kassim Reed has made preparations to keep Atlanta's more vulnerable citizens safe as temperature dip below freezing.

Mayor Kassim Reed's office in conjunction with the Department of Parks and Recreation, opened the Old Adamsville Recreation Center as a temporary emergency shelter to provide warmth and sleeping cots for Atlanta residents.

Old Adamsville Recreation Center at 3304 Delmar Lane, SW, will be open from 8 p.m. on Monday, February 10th until further notice.

Please check this updated list of warming stations.

Gov. Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency for disaster preparedness.
