Raise a Cup for National Coffee Day

Coffee lovers are heading to their favorite java joints in celebration of National Coffee Day.

Starbucks stopped their customers short but announcing they are not handing out gratis coffee today. According to their website, the nation’s largest coffee house launched its "Starbucks One Tree for Every Bagcommitment today. Starting today, Starbucks will donate a coffee plant for every bag of coffee purchased at participating U.S. stores. The program will continue through September 2016.

Thankfully, Starbucks isn’t the only game in town. Atlanta coffee lovers have many options for getting their caffeine high for free this National Coffee Day.

Starbucks unconventional approach to National Coffee Day won't stop Atlanta coffee lovers from celebrating. Atlanta based Krispy Kreme was serving up coffee and original glazed doughnuts; all
for FREE. Krispy Kreme awards members get double points with purchase on today with the purchase of any coffee drink.

Check out one of these coffee retailers for you free cup o'joe:

Dunkin’ Donuts: Customers can get a free medium cup of Dunkin’ Donuts hot or iced dark roast coffee, with a one-per guest limit at participating locations.

Panera Bread: Rewards members have been able to score a free coffee every day of September, so that deal will still be in place for National Coffee Day.

Whole Foods: Stores nationwide are offering 12-ounce cups of coffee for $0.25 through September.

Caribou Coffee: Instead of giving people free coffee, for every cup of Amy’s Blend coffee purchased on Sept. 29, Caribou will donate a cup of coffee to nurses and families in cancer centers throughout the country.

Let’s raise a cup in honor of National Coffee Day
